2008 World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) Rules of Ultimate
2008 WFDF Rules of Ultimate - Appendix
Summary of Changes for WFDF Rules 2007 to 2008

Comparison of UPA Rules of Ultimate 11th Edition and WFDF Rules 2008

The UPA is a member of the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF), which is a member of the General Association of International Sport Federations (GAISF) and the International World Games Association (IWGA). WFDF became a provisional GAISF member in 1987 and was admitted as a full member to GAISF and IWGA in 1996. Flying disc sports were introduced as demonstration sports at the 1989 World Games in Karlsruhe, Germany. Ultimate and Disc Golf were first admitted as medal sports at the 2001 World Games in Akita, Japan. The next World Games will be held in 2005 in Duisburg, Germany.

The UPA's position with regards to international multi-sport games is that international flying disc sport activities are most appropriatedly handled by WFDF, the international federation. In July 2002, the UPA pledged significant additional support to WFDF. We hope that other WFDF member organizations will do the same. Through WFDF, we encourage the further development of Ultimate play and organization throughout the World.
